About Rob
Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at just 13 months old Rob had to over come many obstacles in life to function. Doctors told his parents that he will never walk, or talk. Through his own dedication and determination Rob has proved the medical field wrong.
Rob did not take his disability as “Woe is me”, but turned his life into a showcase that you can learn from. Rob holds a degree in Computer Aided Drafting from Butler County Community College and also a Certificate in Computer Programming.
He worked as a computer programmer consultant in the Pittsburgh, PA area for Five years. He has worked for a School Bus Company in Gibsonia PA for the last 5 years. Rob has returned to where his post secondary education started at Butler County Community College as a Student Access Support Assistant. Rob is also involved with a new nonprofit organization by the name of Uniquely the Same.
Rob Olszewski grew up on his 42 acre family farm, in Butler PA and currently lives in the Saxonburg PA area.
Rob recently was awarded the 2012 Distinguished Alumni Award from Butler County Community College. Also the 2010 Lifesteps Star Award recipient for his determination and willpower to overcome life’s challenges of living with Cerebral Palsy.
As a child Rob’s hobbies were playing the organ and composing songs about his struggles.
Today Rob holds the Distinguished Toastmaster Award, the highest award in Toastmasters International.
Recently Rob became a Certified Leader of Joni and Friends Beyond Suffering Course.
